My first video shoot with the Levelpod camcorder stabilizer was for an exercise video. Since I never used it before, I started with easy statics from my shoulder for steady handheld wide, medium and close-up shots. Then zooms, tilts and pans. It was great to shoot without setting up a tripod. After the basics, I started to experiment. The easy configuration of Levelpod introduced me to a whole new creative video pallet. Overhead camera shots with moves, low shots with reach and reveals with jib like motion. Levelpod increased my creativity to a new level and made shooting a blast with balancd stabilization. The only issues that I had were: 1) learning not to support Levelpod with the shoulder strap during the shot, it's there for resting between shots, and 2) it takes practice, about an hour for me before I really "got it".

"I first used the Levelcam and Levelpod video camera stabilizer for a two day wedding and it worked great. In fact, I found it more convenient to use mostly the Levelcam and Levelpod together and solely the Levelcam when it was too crowded. I even used it instead of the steady cam for some of the shots with the bride and groom. I didn't use the tripod for the interviews of the guests, because Levelpod's monopod did the job very well, changing the height rapidly."

"I showed up at Sundance to do a video documentary with a Sony Z1 HDV camera, anticipating a grip and a dedicated production vehicle. When neither happened, I was told that we all had to share one car. There was no room for the tripod, so the Levelcam and Levelpod video camera stabilizer became my only camcorder support for this brutal two day video shoot. My shots were steady, I could move quickly and I'm thinking that the tripod is over rated."

" What the hell is that thing?" groused Emmy Award winning photojournalist Jim Hucks. "It's a Levelcam", I told him, "and it will help me get the coolest shots". Weeks later, when he saw my video footage with the LevelCam he looked me in the eye and with a look of approval said, "Oh, I get it now, those are great shots." Check out the video on YouTube where 90 percent of the video was shot with Levelcam.

"This enables me to get rid of that handheld video camera wobble with leveraged stabilization. I really like the fact that it allows me to still have my video camera's zoom control without an attachment. I can easily place the Levelcam on the tripod, lock it down and I'm ready to rock and roll. I've also attached the Firestore harddrive holder to Levelcam. It's great that I can modify it to whatever I need because of Levelcams flat open platform."

Bart Garton with Levelcam

Bart Garton/ Professional Videographer -Levelcam

"I used the Levelcam video camera stabilizer in China with a Panasonic 200 and a Firestore harddrive and here's my guerilla report: It's a bulky camera anyway, and Levelcam gives you a better grip and stabilized control. I really like it for the hard drive.  I can put it down as one piece and not worry about walking away while l hooked to the cam. I like that it is fixed and the connections don't wiggle like they would if the firestore was on my belt."

Tim Nixon/ Videographer and Developer of Levelcam and Levelpod

Levelcam and Levelpod were developed because my handheld video camera needed to handle more like a shoulder mounted Betacam. I then added features like a quick release, tilt head, telescoping handle and conversion from a 2 to almost 7 foot tall monopod. I discovered new moves and angles and felt like a film student again when I shot with it. Then my colleagues wanted their own...

Sir Isaac Newton/ Discoverer of Gravity
and the physics of Levelpod

1. An object at rest stays at rest, unless acted upon by a net force.
2. Force equals mass multiplied by acceleration.
3. To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Archimedes/ Discoverer of the Lever
and the physics of Levelcam

"Give me a place to stand and with a lever I will move the whole world."

"Today [Archimedes] would have pointed to our electric media and said, "I will stand on your eyes, your ears, your nerves, and your brain, and the world will move in any tempo or pattern I choose." Marshall McLuhan
